Mod of the Month – Cube Experimental

Cube Experimental is the most celebrated Fallout 3 quest modification to date. It has been downloaded tens of thousands of times and garned numerous awards. Today, it receives one more - FilePlanet's Mod Of The Month. I know what you're thinking, this has been a long time coming. This editor whole-heartily agrees with you dear reader.

Cube Experimental is an extremely ambitious modification that manages to achieve a level of quality that is seldom seen. It immerses the player in an underground cube complex where nothing is what it seems. Constantly, the player is challenged to use their mind, not their index finger to progress further into the cube. This does not mean there are no action sequences, they are limited, but one eventually has to best the cube's defense turrets, as well as a "Helldog."

Through a series of notes and flashbacks, one starts to unravel the mystery of the cube. Eventually you understand where this all fits into the Fallout universe. The visuals are top notch, they offer one of the most interesting and unique settings of a game to date. From rusty pipe platforming sections, to an abandoned house, and the ultra-modern inner areas of the cube complex, it all is stunning. It culminates in a fantastic finale, one that instantly etched itself a place in my top 10. If you've played this before, I encourage you to play it again. If not, what are you waiting for? Play it!
